The African Institute for investigative journalism is launching an investigative documentary “titled Defiled by my Father “today the 7th October, 2021 via the AIIJ YouTube channel.
The documentary tells the story of a desperate mother seeking justice for her 13-year-old daughter who was defiled by her father.
An overwhelming body of evidence shows the case was tampered with by a police investigations officer.
The documentary is a culmination of six months of thorough investigative journalism
“This investigation highlights so many issues that have happened in this country around sexual assault cases, the number cases that are prosecuted and the corruption cases,” said Solomon Serwanja the Executive Director of the institute.
“We hope to start a public debate around access to justice and corruption along the justice value chain and to also get people increasingly concerned about criminals who are let free because of the people who have learnt to play around with pieces of evidence,” said Solomon Serwanja.
